Description:

Geography is more than maps and directions—it's the study of our relationship with the Earth, answering the questions: "What is where? Why there? Why care?" In this course, students will explore the nature of geography, develop geographical thinking skills, and recognize its relevance in everyday life. Through the examination of current global issues such as natural resource ownership, industrial development, food production, trade, and urbanization, students will explore solutions to geographical challenges and work toward a more sustainable future.

Focusing on Canada, North America, and the world, students will gain an understanding of environmental stewardship, sustainable development, and the social, political, and economic implications of their personal choices. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the tools and methods of geography to think critically and propose solutions to the world's pressing issues.
